  1. hi there,, some interesting aspects,, films are all very well but I was brought up watching some of the most compelling tv stuff ever made (as you have found with the great Alan Clarke’s body of genius work) have you seen things like http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0213630/ or , http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108022/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_51 and an array of other staggering pieces of this ilk,, (IE: Tina goes shopping – The grass arena – Just a boy’s game – Dead of night – Trilogy of terror – Benjamin Smoke – Looking after Jo Jo – and The Insurance man) – in fact a lot of the play for today , screen two, screen one,, armchair theatre , the Wednesday play and armchair thriller work was quite awesome , ground breaking and a lot of which still stands up. Like the American shows like the original twilight zone and the outer limits it was a great place for new aspiring actors and directors to cut their teeth and hone their craft,, cheers, my names tom Wilson,, I write / direct, act and other things

    ps

John Cassavetes and Man Ray influences can not be under estimated

    • Thanks for your kind words. I actually haven’t seen many British TV films outside of Ken Loach, Mike Leigh and Alan Clarke and I’ve always wanted to. Thanks to you I now have several places to start. Cheers!
